Monitoring
The monitoring service provides metrics and key performance indicators for observability of the SmartOcean platform performance.
It is crucial to monitor the status of data received from different observing systems deployed at sea because of all the challenges imposed by wireless data delivery from underwater wireless sensor networks. The service is the foundation upon which observability of the platform where more context on how those collected metrics can be used. Observability allows the platform operators to assess the status of the platform’s services and data in runtime with regard to established goals.
The monitoring service and framework is responsible for collecting the Smart Ocean Platform behavior metrics from the different services of the pipeline. An overview of the framework is provided below:
